Destiny prompted my fellows to call me their master…

…Settle, for sure and universally, what conduct will promote the happiness of a rational being.”
― Immanuel Kant
“Happiness and joy are not the same. For what does the fervent craving for joy mean? It does not mean that we wish at any cost to experience the psychic state of being joyful. We want to have reason for joy, for an unceasing joy that fills us utterly, sweeps all before it, exceeds all measure.”
― Josef Pieper, Happiness and Contemplation
“Earthly contemplation means to the Christian, we have said, this above all: that behind all that we directly encounter the Face of the incarnate Logos becomes visible… Contemplation does not ignore the “historical Gethsemane,” does not ignore the mystery of evil, guilt and its bloody atonement. The happiness of contemplation is a true happiness, indeed the supreme happiness; but it is founded upon sorrow.”
― Josef Pieper, Happiness and Contemplation
“Nijedna tuđa sreća nije bez pomalo sreće i za nas druge. Zato je jedna velika mudrost od tuđe sreće praviti sreću i za sebe.”
― Jovan Dučić
“However powerful our technology and complex our corporations, the most remarkable feature of the modern working world may in the end be internal, consisting in an aspect of our mentalities: in the widely held belief that our work should make us happy. All societies have had work at their centre; ours is the first to suggest that it could be something more than a punishment or a penance. Ours is the first to imply that we should seek to work even in the absence of a financial imperative.”
― Alain de Botton, The Pleasures and Sorrows of Work
“It must be nice to be so strong and to think it’s because you’re so good, that you live right and eat right, so you deserve your health and happiness. But there is such a thing as luck, and there’s more bad luck than good in this world.”
― Laura Lippman, Baltimore Blues
“Once we got to eating, the idea of happiness returned to me. Not the feeling, the idea. Would a regular girl be happy simply eating a hot meal with a great deal of chew to it? Maybe happiness is a simple thing. Maybe it’s as simple as the salty taste of pork, and the vast deal of chewing in it, and how, when the chew is gone, you can still scrape at the bone with your bottom teeth and suck at the marrow.”
― Franny Billingsley, Chime

“Tudo parecia organizado da melhor forma possível, como se de fato o mundo constasse somente de palavras, como se assim o próprio horror fosse trazido para dimensões seguras, como se para cada aspecto de uma coisa houvesse um reverso, para cada mal um bem, para cada dissabor um prazer, para cada infelicidade uma felicidade e para cada mentira um quinhão de verdade.”
― W.G. Sebald, Vertigo

“…[A] certain degree of un-understanding (not mis-, but un-) is the only possible sanctuary which one human being can offer to another in the midst of the devastating intimacy of a happy marriage.”

― Irène Némirovsky, Suite Française

“there are many reasons to be sad.

u may be sad because u feel alone. the comforting thing abot feeling lonely is that every thing that has ever existed also knows what loneliness feels like too.

u may be sad because u are sad. it is ok to be sad but if u are sad because happiness is fleeting, just remember that sadness is also fleeting too.”
― Jomny Sun, Everyone’s a Aliebn When Ur a Aliebn Too
“Wherein lies happiness? In that which becks
Our ready minds to fellowship divine,
A fellowship with essence; till we shine,
Full alchemiz’d, and free of space. Behold

― John Keats
“There is no such thing as escape after all, only an exchange of one set of difficulties for another. It wasn’t Mark or the farm or marriage I was trying to shake loose from but my own imperfect self, and even if I kept moving, she would dog me all the way around the world, forever.”

“Happiness is like time and space–we make and measure it ourselves; it is a fancy–as big, as little, as you please; just a thing of contrasts and comparisons, like health or strength or beauty or any other good–that wouldn’t even be noticed but for sad personal experience of its opposite!–or its greater!”
― George du Maurier
“My dear Scipio and Laelius. Men, of course, who have no resources in themselves for securing a good and happy life find every age burdensome. But those who look for all happiness from within can never think anything bad which Nature makes inevitable.”
― Marcus Tullius Cicero
“If you investigate the matter deeply enough and widely enough, you will find that happiness eludes nearly all men despite the fact that they are forever seeking it. The fortunate and successful few are those who have stopped seeking with the ego alone and allow the search to be directed inwardly by the higher self. They alone can find a happiness unblemished by defects or deficiencies, a Supreme Good which is not a further source of pain and sorrow but an endless source of satisfaction and peace.”
― Paul Brunton, The Notebooks of Paul Brunton
“It required all his delicate Epicurean education to prevent his doing something about it; he had to repeat over to himself his favorite notions: that the injustice and unhappiness in the world is a constant; that the theory of progress is a delusion; that the poor, never having known happiness, are insensible to misfortune. Like all the rich he could not bring himself to believe that the poor (look at their houses, look at their clothes) could really suffer. Like all the cultivated he believed that only the widely read could be said to know that they were unhappy.”
― Thornton Wilder, The Bridge of San Luis Rey
“We are souls, eternal and perfect, captains of our mystic ships: gods and goddesses of our universe. We are beautiful, we pearls of grit. We, the ember of everything. Our uniqueness IS what makes us special, and the expression of it is our gift to the rest of us. In order to feel happy and fulfilled, we must honour our own personal brand of creativity… let it out into the world… BE who we came here to BE.”
― Angie karan
“The kind of happy I was that day at the Vet when “Hawk” Dawson actually doffed his red “C” cap to me, and everyone cheered and practically convulsed into tears – you can’t patent that. It was one shining moment of glory that was instantly gone. Whereas life, real life, is different and can’t even be appraised as simply “happy”, but only in terms of “Yes, I’ll take it all, thanks” or “No, I believe I won’t.” Happy, as my poor father used to say, is a lot of hooey. Happy is a circus clown, a sitcom, a greeting card. Life, though, life’s about something sterner. But also something better. A lot better. Believe me.”
― Richard Ford, The Lay of the Land
“What is it that makes you cry? It is only your attachments. What is it that you miss when it is lost? It is the object of your attachment. Ponder over this. Find out what it is that grips your very life, without which you feel miserable and destitute; that is the center of your attachment.

Here is what you should do: make an effort to find out what things it would hurt you to lose. Then, before they are lost, open your hands little by little, relax your grip on them. This is the method for conquering attachment. There is bound to be pain, but you must bear it; this is your penance. It is not necessary to renounce anything. It is not that you should leave your wife and run away to the Himalayas. Remain there, where you are, but gradually stop depending on her. There is no need to cause any pain; your wife need not even know it. There is no need to tell her.
Seek out the attachments. Try gradually to live without the things that you now think you cannot live without. Create such a state within yourself that if and when these things are lost, there is not the slightest tremor within you. Then you will have attained victory over these attachments. This can be possible. It has been possible. And if it has happened to even one, it can happen to all.”
― Osho, Bliss: Living beyond happiness and misery

“In stating these matters, I speak an open and disinterested language, dictated by no passion but that of humanity. To me, who have not only refused offers, because I thought them improper, but have declined rewards I might with reputation have accepted, it is no wonder that meanness and imposition appear disgustful. Independence is my happiness, and I view things as they are, without regard to place or person; my country is the world, and my religion is to do good.”

But thou shalt remember the lord thy God: for it is He that giveth thee power to get wealth that He may establish His covenant which He sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day. Deuteronomy 8:18
I can’t be used to obtain the savior and heaven.
-Money agreed.
Here money itself has agreed, I can’t be used to obtain a savior and heaven. What then can I say?
Money is an article which may be used as a universal passport to everywhere except to obtain a savior and heaven – W.F. Kumuyi.
On a leaflet was written, do you know that you’ll outlive the sun? Do you know that when the earth and the stars have all passed away, you’ll just be beginning your endless day – a time without end? Once you are born you’ll never cease to leave. You’ll live forever; you’ll be alive eternally. Eternity has no end. This is solemn and fearful truth. Suppose it were possible to tie a rope from the earth to heaven and an ant were to go to the end and return on this rope, when the ant has done that a hundred times, then a small fraction of eternity has passed. Suppose a small boy were to empty an ocean with a cup, the time it will take the boy to do so is a very tiny part of eternity. If it were possible to gather all the books that have ever been written in all fields of human Endeavour and in all languages, and a student were to read them one by one, the time he’ll spend reading all the books will only amount to a minute fraction of eternity. If a grain of sand at the seashore will represent a year only a small negligible part of eternity will all amount to. If a bird went to sharpen its beak once a year at a mountain, when the bird wears the mountain in this way, only an insignificant part of eternity would have passed. Eternity is the life- time of the never- dying God. And you’ll be alive eternally. Once born, a person remains consciously alive forever.
Eternity doesn’t terminate at the time of death. Death is just another wrung on the ladder of eternity. It’s only a gateway to eternity- eternity in heaven or in hell. There is the resurrection of life and there is the resurrection of damnation. There is no neutral place. These are stark realities you must face.
Choose you this day. Where do you want to spend eternity? You can only answer with an action.
Eternity in hell is sure for every sinner who refuses to repent. Choose you this day. Where’ll you spend eternity? With God in heaven? Then you must repent now. He that covereth his sins shall not prosper but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy. – Proverbs 28:13.

Confession (salvation pill)

Step one:
Place your right hand on your navel, close your eyes and imagine Jesus Christ standing before you.

Step two:
Prayer of salvation
Lord Jesus Christ, thank you for saving me. I believe you died for my sake. I surrender all to you. Purify, sanctify and justify me. Erase the consequences of my sins. Make me rapture able. Write my name in the book of life. Have mercy upon me and let your grace continually abide with me. Amen.

Wow!!! You have just signed into the resurrection of life. See how the hosts of angels are jubilating for you.
From now on:
But Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33.

You shall prosper
…And he (you) shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his (your) fruit in his season, his leaves shall not wither, and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper… Psalm 1:1-3

Now therefore fear the lord, and serve Him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods your fathers served… Joshua 24:14.

…as for me and my house (family), we will serve the LORD…Joshua 24:15-16
